The PKN search under "PN-EN 1132" (12.10.2026) returns this standard and two editions of the unrelated PN-EN ISO 11132 (sensory analysis), and under "PN-A-75101-06" (13.10.2026) — the predecessor and its amendment. At other publishers: according to the Standard Norge catalogue (13.10.2026), NS-EN 1132:1994 (committee CEN/TC 174) has the status "Withdrawn" dated 23 February 2024, with no replacing standard named. We do not name a standard that would replace PN-EN 1132.

HOW MANY LABORATORIES AND IN WHAT FORM (copy of the accreditation scope database from the production server, refreshed on 12.10.2026). The notation "PN-EN 1132" appears in 10 records at 7 laboratories, always as "PN-EN 1132:1999" (at AB 583 next to PN-A-75101-06:1990, at AB 592 next to "IFU No. 11 (Rev. 2015)"); in the current PCA documents (read on 12–13.10.2026; issues from 30.10.2025 — AB 452 — to 08.07.2026 — AB 1179) — in 10 rows at the same laboratories (AB 1179 — 4 rows: vegetable products, fruit products, juices, non-alcoholic beverages); a search of all downloaded PCA documents found no laboratories outside the database copy, no row with the number is set in bold italics (the suspension at the laboratory's request in the AB 1179 document, from 24.04.2026 to 21.10.2026, concerns other entries), and no pages are repeated in any document. The "Laboratories" tab (search term "PN-EN 1132") shows all 7 laboratories — checked with the tab query on the labcoda.pl production server on 13.10.2026.

WHAT THE LABORATORIES TEST (database copy and PCA documents). Test object: fruit and vegetable juices — AB 444, AB 532; juices — AB 592, AB 1179 (AB 1179 also has separate entries for fruit products, vegetable products and non-alcoholic beverages); juices, nectars, fruit, vegetable and fruit-and-vegetable purées — AB 452; fruit and vegetables, fruit and vegetable products — AB 583; fruit and vegetables and fruit and vegetable products, juices, non-alcoholic beverages — AB 1334 (there a common pH cell, 2.0–10.0, also covers meat, fish, ready-to-eat dishes, mayonnaises and seafood according to PN-ISO 2917, milk, food concentrates and marinated fish products — each test object with its own document). Technique: potentiometric method — all. pH ranges: 1.68–9.18 — AB 1179 (products and juices; non-alcoholic beverages 2.48–6.97); 2.0–10.0 — AB 1334; 2.00–8.70 — AB 592; 2.00–8.00 — AB 444; 2.5–5.5 — AB 583; 3.00–8.00 — AB 532; 3.00–4.50 — AB 452.

ALONGSIDE THIS STANDARD. In the entries with this standard there are: the predecessor PN-A-75101-06:1990 (withdrawn on 02.12.2011) — AB 583; IFU method No. 11 (Rev. 2015) — AB 592 (we did not read its content). AB 444 has, in a separate entry, the pH of fruit and vegetable products according to "PN-90/A-75101/06+Az1:2002", i.e. the predecessor with its amendment. The pH of juices, nectars, purées, fruit and vegetables, their products and non-alcoholic beverages is determined by 8 laboratories in the database copy (entries with pH in the test description or parameters and with such a test object, excluding alcoholic beverages, feed, soils, fertilisers and waste): 7 cite this standard, AB 1682 — in-house procedure PB-A-12 edition 01 of 01.07.2025 (fruit and vegetable juices, including beverages, liquid food supplements; pH 2.00–12.00; PCA document issue No. 11 of 15.05.2026). In the database copy the same laboratories also have other standards from the series of test methods for juices, among them PN-EN 1133 (formol number — AB 452, AB 592), PN-EN 12143 (soluble solids — AB 444, AB 452, AB 592) and PN-EN 12147 (titratable acidity — AB 452, AB 532, AB 1334); these determinations are described in separate Knowledge Base entries.

WHERE A SEEMINGLY CORRECT RESULT IS EASY TO GET. First — test object: the card speaks of fruit and vegetable juices (Standard Norge — of juices and related products), while the laboratories also apply the standard to fruit and vegetables, their products and non-alcoholic beverages (AB 583, AB 1179, AB 1334); whether the sample preparation of the standard covers solid products does not follow from the card. Second — range: the laboratories' pH ranges differ, from 3.00–4.50 (AB 452) to 1.68–9.18 (AB 1179) and 2.0–10.0 (AB 1334) — when ordering a test, check whether the expected value lies within the range of the laboratory concerned. Third — status: the standard has been withdrawn since 09.04.2024 without a successor being named, and its predecessor since 02.12.2011; AB 583 cites both at once, AB 444 the predecessor with its amendment in a separate entry.

WHAT WE DO NOT GIVE. We did not have the text of the standard — we do not give the sample preparation, the buffer solutions for calibration and their pH values, the measurement temperature, the precision to which the result is reported, or the repeatability and reproducibility values from Annex B. We did not read the content of IFU method No. 11 or of procedure PB-A-12.

Method principle

Potentiometric measurement: the pH meter is calibrated with buffer solutions, and then the pH of the prepared juice sample is measured (PKN card). According to the card of the predecessor, PN-A-75101-06:1990, the principle of the method consists in measuring the potential difference between two electrodes immersed in the test solution. WE DO NOT GIVE details — we did not have the text of the standard.
