Slovakia: PFAS testing in drinking water from 13 January 2026
The new indicators for total PFAS and the sum of PFAS are tested where risk management of the catchment area points to their possible presence.
- Slovakia took the conditional route: the testing duty is not universal but follows from the risk assessment of a given intake and sampling point.
- That moves the decision to the water supplier and its risk documentation — the laboratory receives an order only when the assessment says so.
- The health ministry regulation also tidies up the quality indicators for drinking and hot water and the monitoring procedure.
