PCA revises its accreditation programme for construction products notification — new rules for laboratories in system 3
On 28 September 2026 the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) put out for comment draft edition 4 of document DAN-01, aligned with the new Construction Products Regulation (EU) 2024/3110. The draft sets out detailed rules on accreditation scopes for each assessment system, including testing laboratories in system 3; comments are accepted until 19 October 2026.
- DAN-01 covers accreditation of conformity assessment bodies for activities under Regulations (EU) No 305/2011 and 2024/3110; the draft sets requirements for both the existing and the new assessment systems: 1, 1+ and 2+ for product certification bodies, 3 for testing laboratories and 3+ for validation bodies.
- A laboratory seeking accreditation for notification in system 3 should be accredited for tests of all essential characteristics needed to assess the performance of a product, for at least one basic requirement; the scope may also cover tests on equipment at the manufacturer’s plant or in an external laboratory.
- Where performance is assessed from calculations, tabulated data or product documentation, the laboratory must supervise the source data, record inputs, intermediate steps and results, validate and secure its IT systems and authorise staff to approve the results.
- PCA will run accreditation for notification in system 3+ under programme DAVG-01, whose formal changes will follow the consultation on DAN-01; significant changes are marked in red in the draft.
