Lithuania: emission measurements and soil testing only with accreditation
Laboratories measuring pollutants emitted from sources into the environment and testing mechanical soil properties must hold accreditation.
- The requirement closes the door to measurements taken outside the accreditation system — an unaccredited result no longer supports a permit compliance assessment.
- Two different fields are covered: emissions to air from installations and mechanical soil testing in construction.
- The market effect is visible: laboratories extend their scopes, and clients have to check the scope, not just the certificate.
