Italy changes how a scope of accreditation is written
A new edition of document RT-23 sets out how a testing laboratory must define its field of accreditation. It applies from 1 November 2026.
- The document addresses what matters most to a client: whether a given method and matrix really fall within the accreditation the laboratory shows.
- The edition was published in April 2026, and the six-month lead time allows scopes to be tidied before the next assessment.
- A uniform way of wording the scope makes laboratory offers comparable — the same test in two scopes should read the same way.
