An ion chromatograph half the height that dilutes the sample by itself
A new ion chromatograph for water testing fits under fifty centimetres in height and dilutes samples that fall outside the calibration range by itself. An optional dual injection allows anions and cations to be determined in one run.
- The manufacturer quotes a height below fifty centimetres, about 58 % of the previous level — what counts for a laboratory here is bench space, not the number itself.
- Automatic dilution by a factor of two, five or ten is triggered when a result falls outside the calibration curve; instead of repeating the whole batch the instrument picks the dilution itself.
- Options include automatic eluent preparation and flow control, as well as a dual injection configuration for simultaneous determination of anions and cations.
- The intended users are laboratories testing tap and environmental water and public control institutions, where reproducibility across operators of differing experience matters; the launch was on 10 February 2026.
