The United Kingdom updates its list of official food and feed laboratories
The latest change of 30 June 2026 removed one of the laboratories testing for trichinella. Being on the list is the condition for working for enforcement authorities.
- The list covers public and agricultural analysts and microbiology laboratories working for local authorities, plus bodies designated for selected monitoring work.
- Official laboratories must take part in proficiency testing organised by the national reference laboratory whenever it asks.
- The basis is the EU official controls regulation assimilated into national law — despite Brexit the technical requirements stayed the same.
