France: requirements for laboratories testing construction products
A separate reference document sets the accreditation conditions for laboratories testing under the system of assessment and verification of constancy of performance of construction products.
- The requirements are tied to national decree no. 2026-17 — a laboratory that wants to work in this area needs the accreditation described in that document.
- It is the same logic as with water: ISO/IEC 17025 alone is not enough, a national complement for the field is needed.
- For a manufacturer the practical effect is clear: the test report has to come from a laboratory with a properly worded scope, otherwise it will not support a declaration of performance.
