The EA MLA mark registered in all member countries of the agreement
Since 19 June 2026 the EA multilateral agreement mark has been registered in all member countries; Supplement 3 to EA-3/01 for Switzerland has also been published.
- The MLA mark shows that accreditation granted by a national body is recognised in the other countries of the agreement — the basis for cross-border acceptance of test reports.
- Registration in all member countries gives the mark legal protection, that is, a real tool against unauthorised use.
- For an accredited laboratory this is a practical matter: the rules for using the mark by bodies and by their clients follow from document EA-3/01.
- The supplement for Switzerland orders the use of the mark outside the Union — relevant for laboratories serving the Swiss market.
