EU–US Mutual Recognition Agreement: Finland’s Etteplan Finland Oy added to the list of EU conformity assessment bodies for electromagnetic compatibility with access to the US market
The Official Journal of the EU of 29 September 2026 published Decision No 80/2026 of the Joint Committee established under the Agreement on Mutual Recognition (MRA) between the European Community and the United States of America, of 17 August 2026. The decision adds an EU conformity assessment body to the list in the Sectoral Annex for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC).
- Etteplan Finland Oy, Aholaidantie 3, 40320 Jyväskylä (Finland) was added to the list — under the column “EC access to the US market” in Section V of the Sectoral Annex for Electromagnetic Compatibility.
- The specific scope of the listing — products and conformity assessment procedures — has been agreed by the Parties and will be maintained by them; the text of the decision does not set it out.
- The legal basis is Article 7 and Article 14(4)(a) of the Agreement; according to the recital, it is the Joint Committee that takes the decision to list a conformity assessment body or bodies under a Sectoral Annex.
- The decision was signed by representatives of the Joint Committee authorised to act on behalf of the Parties for the purposes of amending the Agreement: for the United States on 20 July 2026 in Washington, D.C., and for the EU on 17 August 2026 in Brussels. The decision (2026/2170) is effective from the date of the later of these signatures.
