EU Water Resilience Stakeholder Platform launched
On 21 September 2026 in Brussels the European Commission launched the Water Resilience Stakeholder Platform. Three priorities: digitalisation and water efficiency, accelerating water reuse and removing implementation barriers.
- The platform brings together business, the water sector, civil society and regional, local and national authorities; the inaugural meeting gathered more than 50 experts.
- It is co-chaired by three institutions: the European Commission, the European Economic and Social Committee and the European Committee of the Regions.
- The European Water Academy and an investment accelerator targeting 20 pilot projects on water retention and efficiency started alongside; the strategy aims at Europe’s water resilience by 2050.
