Conformity assessment and certification of concrete in a separate standard, EN 206-2:2026
The second part of the split concrete standard, approved by CEN on 19 January 2026 and issued in March 2026, covers conformity assessment and certification only.
- Together with Part 1, EN 206-2:2026 supersedes EN 206:2013+A2:2021 and is classified under ICS 03.120.20 (product and company certification) and 91.100.30 (concrete and concrete products).
- Separating technical requirements from certification rules clarifies the roles: the testing laboratory works to Part 1, the certification body to Part 2.
- A laboratory whose scope of accreditation held a single "EN 206" entry has to decide which part its tests refer to and record it accordingly.
- When receiving test reports it is worth checking the part number: the year of issue alone no longer distinguishes the technical document from the certification one.
