Czechia sets up a state reference laboratory for PFAS
The state health institute is opening a laboratory meant to settle disputed determinations of forever chemicals in drinking water.
- The laboratory is to act as a reference: when an authority is unsure about water quality in a specific case, it will turn there.
- It answers the arrival of the PFAS limit — at such low concentrations, differences between laboratories easily turn into a dispute over the result.
- For commercial laboratories it means a clear point of reference and more pressure on method comparability.
