Czechia: new drinking water limits — PFAS, bisphenol A and haloacetic acids
From 12 January 2026 limits for new indicators apply under the Czech drinking water decree. For PFAS the value is 100 nanograms per litre.
- The new indicators — bisphenol A, haloacetic acids and the sum of PFAS — had to be determined in the full analysis since 2024, but the limit values only start to bind now.
- From January 2026 a result is no longer just information: exceeding the limit puts the operator of the supply or well under obligation.
- PFAS analysis is expensive — a single sample runs to a few thousand crowns — so the sampling plan makes a real difference to a supplier budget.
