Czechia: flexible scope of accreditation in four degrees of freedom
A laboratory may modify methods within its granted degree of freedom as long as the measurement principle stays. The list of such activities was updated on 13 March 2026.
- The four degrees are: A — the item tested, B — parameters and properties, C — method performance, D — the method itself; each grants a different freedom to change.
- The laboratory has to report the use of a flexible scope on the accreditation body forms: the list of activities and a record of its application.
- A flexible scope shortens the path to new determinations but shifts the burden of proof onto the laboratory, which has to show the modified method still works.
