Czech Trade Inspection: all 99 fuel samples compliant in August; from January to August 2026 3 of 856 failed — petrol vapour pressure and diesel flash point
On 14 September 2026 the Czech Trade Inspection (ČOI) published fuel quality monitoring results. In August it took 99 samples at filling stations and all met the quality requirements; in the January–August summary 3 of 856 samples (0.4%) failed.
- August: 42 petrol samples (41 Super 95 and 1 Super Plus 98), 42 diesel, 12 LPG and 3 CNG — all compliant. Among others, no samples of 91-octane petrol, FAME, B10 diesel, paraffinic diesel, LNG or E85 were taken in August.
- January–August: 856 samples — 333 petrol (316 Super 95, 17 Super Plus 98), 400 diesel, 4 paraffinic diesel, 105 LPG and 14 CNG/bio-CNG. One 98-octane petrol sample failed on vapour pressure and 2 diesel samples on flash point; all other fuel types were fully compliant.
- Requirements are set by Czech Decree No 516/2020 Coll.: petrol must meet ČSN EN 228 and the indicators in Annex 1 (DVPE vapour pressure in summer at most 60.0 kPa; summer runs from 22 April to 30 September), diesel ČSN EN 590 and Annex 2 (flash point above 55 °C).
- Test methods must be those specified in ČSN EN 228 and ČSN EN 590; methods from a standard replacing them may be adopted if their accuracy and precision are shown to be at least equal. The decree has applied since 1 January 2021 and replaced the earlier Decree No 133/2010 Coll.
