Czech accreditation changes flexible-scope rules: applications filed from 1 December 2026 must describe the scope with grouped items (FRA v.2), and ILAC-G8 and ILAC-G17 are replaced by Global ACI documents
On 1 October 2026 the Czech Accreditation Institute (ČIA) published change sheets 07/26 to MPA 00-09-24 “Flexible scope of accreditation” and 04/26 to MPA 10-01-25 (application of ISO/IEC 17025), effective from that day. No comments were raised in the public consultation.
- Applications for granting, renewing or extending accreditation filed by 30 November 2026 are handled under FRA v.1. From 1 December 2026 FRA v.2 applies: the scope of tests with a flexible degree of freedom is described with grouped items (with reference to ILAC-G18) in the annex to the certificate and with specific items in the “List of activities within the flexible scope”; a laboratory may switch to FRA v.2 voluntarily earlier.
- A laboratory using a flexible scope must stay within the boundaries defined by the wording of the grouped items. Degrees of freedom A (materials/products — the test object) and B (components, parameters, characteristics) have been clarified, and the current list of activities must be sent or uploaded to the Share space in editable form (doc, docx); it is checked at every assessment.
- The new MPA 00-09-26 applies from 1 October 2026 and replaces MPA 00-09-24 of 1 October 2024. Bodies with a flexible scope granted under MPA 00-09-20 apply the new document with their first application for extension or renewal of accreditation.
- In the document on applying ISO/IEC 17025, ILAC-G8 is replaced by Global ACI-TECH-1-002 (G) on decision rules and statements of conformity, and ILAC-G17 by Global ACI-TECH-1-003 (G) on measurement uncertainty in testing. Implementation of an updated method must be reported no later than one month before surveillance, and assessments of laboratories for notification take account of Construction Products Regulation (EU) 2024/3110.
