China: 370 new pesticide residue limits and 14 new methods
The new edition of the national food safety standard on maximum pesticide residue limits applies from 1 March 2026 and replaces the 2021 and 2022 editions.
- The standard adds 370 limits and, with them, fourteen test methods with wider coverage and lower limits of quantification.
- For a laboratory the second part matters most: the new methods have to be implemented and verified so results can be compared with the new limits.
- The standard is part of a larger package of seven national food safety standards that took effect the same day.
